Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis

Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis is a technique that allows the genetic study of the embryo before it is transferred to the maternal uterus. This study is carried out as the embryo is developing in the laboratory. Therefore, it is a technique associated with in vitro fertilisation treatment with ICSI and allows healthy embryos to be selected for transfer, thus increasing the possibility of pregnancy from IVF and ultimately the birth of a healthy child.
